We write code

Git on Nostr. Open a box.

gittr is the hosted forge: issues, pull requests, static Pages, apps, Lightning, notifications, Kanban, and a profile for your repos. The conversation is signed Nostr events — any Nostr git client can see the same issues and PRs. The files live on the git servers and GRASP hosts you pushed to. This page is the public map of that platform — each box below is a door. What you can do is the long list. How gittr fits. Jobs match the Help center. Client recipes live on gittr-snips.

What you can do on gittr

Same jobs as Help → What you can do on gittr. Start here if you want the product, not the wiring diagram.

Mirror & backup
Copy repos from a forge or your own server onto Nostr git relays (GRASP).
Issues & PRs on Nostr
Nostr tickets use a long event id. GitHub/Gitea copies keep origin #12 — comment here, close or merge on the forge. Other clients see the same signed events.
Nostr Pages
Publish a static site from a repo (root index.html, then Push Manifest). Browse /pages.
Nostr apps
Discover installers on /apps. Owners announce a real Release tag from the Code sidebar.
Releases
Forge download assets and NIP-82 listings. A local listing, an announce, and Push to Nostr are three steps.
Bounties & zaps
Put sats on a feature or a disclosure. They pay when a gittr Nostr PR is merged here — merging on GitHub does not pay.
Zap splits
Share repo zaps with contributors (Zap Split Policy — Split (N) on the zap button).
Import
One repo or bulk from a forge — GitHub and Codeberg (they run it) or GitLab / Gitea / Forgejo (you can run it) — when the code already lives elsewhere.
SSH keys
Settings → SSH Keys, then clone and push to git.gittr.space like any other git host — laptop git, no extra helper.
Notifications
Nostr DMs and optional Telegram. Watched repos, issues, PRs — plus private security notices.
CVE / dependency notices
Dependencies tab plus optional CVE alerts as private DMs — never a public issue. Early Spoiler Alert DMs too.
Kanban & milestones
Projects with Kanban and Roadmap. Milestones on the repo. Plan the work, then drag the cards.
Profile
A styled npub page: repositories, Pages, apps, and an Activity Timeline (the contribution heatmap).
Code snippets
Select code in a file and Share as snippet (NIP-C0) — a standalone note on Nostr.
Repo links
Documentation, YouTube, Discord, Twitter, or any post — shown on the repo under contributors.
Fork, star, watch
Fork copies the parent tree. Star and Watch sit on the repo toolbar. Stars has its own page.
Delete repository
Owners can Delete Repository in Settings — signed, with a Nostr deletion marker. It cannot be undone.
Web of Trust badges
When you are logged in, repo, app, and Pages authors show how close they are in your follow graph — “In your network” or hops away.
External identities
Settings → Profile: claim GitHub, X, and more (NIP-39) so others can see you are the same person — useful when they judge Web of Trust.
Security lab
Header → Lab: a snapshot map of ecosystem dependencies around gittr, and which repos that use them look affected. Per-repo CVEs stay on each repo’s Dependencies tab.

Getting started: log in → create or import a repo → payments are optional (NWC / LNURL).

How gittr fits in Nostr git

Protocol is shared. Codebases are not. Think events on relays → git bytes on a server → a website or a CLI, not one app per bullet on awesome-nostr.

Protocol
NIP-34 + GRASP
Signed repo / issue / PR events. Clone URLs can list several git hosts.
Git server · gitnostr
git.gittr.space
Bare repos over SSH/HTTPS. Kind 52 keys. This is the disk gittr talks to.
Web · gittr
gittr.space · YOU ARE HERE
The forge UI: Code, issues, PRs, Pages, apps, notifications, projects, import, bounties. Built on gitnostr.
CLI · ngit
nostr:// + gitworkshop
Laptop helper + git-remote-nostr. Same events. Different stack. We don’t ship it.

gittr ≠ ngit

  • gittr ships and runs gitnostr.
  • Day-to-day push/pull on gittr.space is SSH/HTTPS to the bridge, not the ngit binary.
  • They interoperate on the same kinds (30617, 30618, issues, PRs).

Where the bits live

  • Repo identity: npub + name on relays.
  • Git blobs: git.gittr.space.
  • Sites: pages.gittr.space. Blobs: blossom.gittr.space.
  • Laptop git: SSH/HTTPS to the bridge. nostr:// is interop (install ngit’s helper). Agents: gittr-mcp over HTTPS + nsec, not SSH.

Issues and PRs are shared (same signed events). The hosted forge — import, Pages, /apps, Lightning, notifications, Kanban, profiles, a git server you can SSH to — lives on gittr.

gittr

  • Hosted web forge. Built on gitnostr.
  • Issues, PRs, Pages, apps. Git over SSH/HTTPS to git.gittr.space.

gitworkshop

  • Hosted web client on the ngit stack.
  • Issues, PRs, repo zaps. Git via public GRASP hosts.
  • Pairs with the ngit CLI.

gitplaza

  • Linux desktop app — not a hosted website.
  • Issues and patches (diffs, revisions) on the same events.
  • Desktop kanban and releases. Git via clone tags + GitWorkshop / ngit.

Exclusive to gittr

  • SSH keys — Settings → SSH Keys, then git clone / git push to git.gittr.space like any other git host.
  • Import + gitnostr — GitHub / GitLab / Codeberg / Gitea, or a Nostr-only repo on git.gittr.space.
  • Pages + /apps — static sites and an app directory.
  • Notifications — Nostr DMs and optional Telegram.
  • CVE / dependency notices — private DMs, never a public issue. Spoiler Alert for early warnings.
  • Kanban, Roadmap, milestones — hosted Projects with a board and a timeline.
  • Zap Split Policy — share repo zaps with contributors.
  • Bounties — fund a feature, or leave sats sitting for a security disclosure. Optional paywall on git push.
  • Profile — styled npub page with repos, Pages, apps, and an Activity Timeline heatmap.
  • Code snippets — Share as snippet (NIP-C0) from any file.
  • Repository Links — docs, YouTube, Discord, Twitter, or any post on the repo.
  • Fork, Star, Watch — fork copies the parent tree; stars have their own page.
  • Delete Repository — owner-signed; Nostr deletion marker. Cannot be undone.
  • Web of Trust badges — hops from you on repos, apps, and Pages. Not a global score.
  • External identities — Settings → Profile, NIP-39 claims (GitHub, X, …) for the same person on Nostr.
  • Security lab — header Lab: ecosystem dependency map from gittr as the seed. Display-only snapshot.
